When the Air Max 95 was released in the '90s, it captured the visual spirit of the times with its anatomically inspired design, synthetic materials, and striking neon green accents. It looked like it belonged on a skateboard and in front of the camera, but as a performance running shoe, it remained a classic off-the-scene for a long time. So the Nike SB team took on the challenge of adapting it for skating without losing the look that made it an icon.

Instead of the original's signature synthetic material, the Nike SB Air Max 95 relies on suede and leather—both materials that have proven their worth in skating. The reinforcements originally designed for running have been reworked and replaced with lighter, more flexible materials to give the shoe a better board feel and the characteristics that matter most when skating. Because the SB Air Max 95 sits slightly higher than traditional skate shoes, the insole has been modified for more direct contact with the board. The outsole features a new herringbone pattern for enhanced traction while skating. The Air Max 95 makes its skate debut in Summit White and Cactus Flower, featuring tonal accents, a grippy rubber outsole, and Nike SB branding on the heel, tongue, and TPU collar.
